Watermelons, Speed, and Grit - Ross Chastain’s Triumphant Coca-Cola 600 Victory

Image
This weekend marked the first time this season that the crew from Prime Sports took over the broadcast, and they will be calling the next five races. It was incredible to see a fresh yet experienced team come together for such an iconic event. Hall of Famer Carl Edwards joined as a broadcaster, and we could not be happier to see him return to the sport after so many years away since retiring. Carl brought a level of insight, passion, and respect that only a true champion can offer. Alongside him were Adam Alexander on play-by-play, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Letarte providing expert analysis in the booth. Jeff Gordon joined the team for Stages 2 and 3, adding even more depth and perspective to the coverage. Pit road reporting was handled by Kim Coon, Marty Snider, and Trevor Bayne, while Danielle Trotta hosted the pre- and post-race shows with her usual poise and energy. This group made for an outstanding broadcast team who brought the race to life with knowledge, humor, a...

North Wilkesboro Magic: How the 2025 All-Star Race Reclaimed NASCAR’s Soul

Why Was the All-Star Race So Good? Let’s Break It Down Hey everyone. So many questions are buzzing after this weekend, right? You're thinking them, I'm thinking them. Let’s get into it and unpack the madness that was the 2025 All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, a $1 million showdown that absolutely delivered. We're heading into the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte next, but first, let's break down why this All-Star weekend was one for the books. Why Was This All-Star Race So Good? The green flag dropped and by Lap 5, it was on: hard racing, doors slamming, bumpers rubbing, with no one asleep at the wheel. Every driver was chasing that $1 million prize like their career depended on it, and that’s the magic of North Wilkesboro Speedway: a pure, gritty, old-school North Carolina short track. Combine a classic venue with a massive paycheck and you get the kind of racing we should see at every short track all year: aggression, energy, pressure. It was sold out, the...

Kansas is the real deal huh?

If you're reading this, you've made it! You're all caught up and have seen everything I had on the back burner. If not, no worries, just go back and check out what you missed. Now, let’s dive in. Kansas Motor Speedway this past weekend—pretty awesome, right? Or maybe it wasn’t? Let’s talk about why I think it was awesome, and why it maybe wasn’t. Why WAS Kansas awesome? I’ve got to say, I love Kansas Motor Speedway. It's a great track with a lot of history. It's not a superspeedway, but it's got that sweet spot right below one. To explain why I think Sunday’s race was awesome, I need to take you back to Saturday night. The Craftsman Truck Series race was absolutely spectacular. I was watching at home, on the edge of my seat, clapping. It was pure, raw racing, and it felt so right. There’s something about Kansas—it just feels right. Kansas Motor Speedway Layout. The Truck Series cars are a different breed from the Xfinity and Cup Series machines. They're b...

Texas & Cool New Graphics!

Image
Let’s jump right into it, Texas. Joey Logano scored his first win of the 2025 season in a dramatic late-race finish at Texas Motor Speedway. With just four laps to go, he made a move on Michael McDowell for the lead, and not long after, McDowell smacked the wall, handing the race over to Logano. And just like that, Joey cruised to victory. Now, that’s the official wrap-up… and if that’s all you came for, thanks for reading. I’m kidding, of course. But honestly, the moment I saw Joey was going to win, I lost a bit of interest. Sorry, not sorry. That’s all the Joey talk you’re getting. Let’s move on to the more entertaining stuff. Texas Motor Speedway Layout. One of the funnier moments of the race came courtesy of Denny Hamlin, who, mid-race, completely blanked on the team’s code word for pitting. Yes, in the middle of a green-flag cycle, he was out there guessing like he was on a game show. The best part? He and his crew chief laughed it off on the radio seconds after it happene...

A "good" Talladega race? Maybe just for Austin? Maybe just for Larson?

Image
It’s that time of year again, Talladega. Just like with Bristol, I’m keeping this to a quick summary. Honestly, I don’t think it was a “good” race for anyone in particular. Is Dega an entertaining superspeedway? Absolutely. And was it an entertaining race? Sure, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t think anyone had a standout day. I’m glad there wasn’t a massive wreck, though there were definitely some crashes, most of which could have been avoided. Another DNF for Brad Keselowski… man, he’s really having a rough season. Thankfully, he has his role as team owner at RFK and he’s been doing some of the “drivers only” broadcasts for FOX. Still, it makes you wonder if he’s heading toward one of those quiet retirements after 15 to 20 years, just fading out of the spotlight. That would be tough to see, especially for a former champion. But honestly, I don’t think that’s how Brad’s story ends. I’m a big fan of his. He’s a great team owner, and I enjoy every time he’s in the broadcast booth....

Welcome Back Everyone! Kyle Larson Dominated Bristol - Weekend Summary!

Image
Hey everyone, welcome back! If you’re reading this, you probably noticed I took a little break from writing. I’m actually writing this article weeks after the Bristol race happened, so what’s been going on with me? Well, I’ve just been incredibly busy. Work picked up, and I’m still in school full-time. I’m actually set to graduate this August! On top of that, I’ve been working on finalizing where I’ll be doing my MBA this fall, and good news, I’ve officially got that nailed down. So yeah, the past four weeks have been a bit hectic, to say the least. But I’m getting back on track now, and it’s time to talk about Bristol. Kyle Larson had another shot at sweeping the weekend, something we talked about a few weeks ago. He had the chance to win all three races: Friday night, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday. While he didn’t pull off the full sweep, he still had an incredible weekend. He won the Xfinity Series race on Saturday and the Cup Series race on Sunday, absolutely dominating both. Hone...
